The food is generally simple and will consist of Dal-Bhat (spicy lentil soup and rice with vegetables).

Breakfast will be provided by the hotel and is usually simple with fruit, toast, cereal, tea, coffee and drinking water.

Lunch on working days will be provided by the local community or arranged by the hotel. On non-working days, the team will dine at a local restaurant or other location depending on the day's activities.

Dinners will either be prearranged at restaurants or managed at the hotel.

Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided on site during working days.

Some basic rules: Fruits should be washed with purified water or peeled before eaten; Beware of ice cream that is being sold on the streets; Be mindful of fruit juice if you suspect water may have been added; Milk should be well-boiled or pasteurized; Tea/coffee should be okay since the water has been boiled; Eat curd (Nepali yogurt) with most meals as it soothes the stomach.

If you have special needs or requirements, please make these known to the team leader.

We will stay in a decent hotel that include twin-share occupancy rooms with attached baths. Please know that the hotel standard in rural areas may not be as high as in Kathmandu, and electricity shortages and minimal hot water may be encountered.

In Kathmandu, we will stay at Hotel Vaishali (www.hotelvaishali.com).

In Chitwan, we will stay at Hotel Red Karpet (www.redkarpet.com.np).
